Waves are places where you can gather and find people of like interests. Anyone can create a wave, and they can specify the category and whether joining is open to anyone or moderated.
Making connections on PakSurf is not limited to friends. Through both Waves, you can stay more connected with everything that matters in your life—from businesses and public figures to common interests and hobbies.
Create your own Wave at PakSurf to grow your business, community or FANS.
Get connected with things that only matter to you because PakSurf gives you freedom & power to your words.
Using PakSurf waves
A wave is a curated group of PakSurf users. You can create your own waves or join to waves created by others. Viewing a wave timeline will show you a stream of posts from only the users on that wave.
Waves on PakSurf !
What is a Wave on #PakSurf and who needs one?
A #Wave is the only way for entities like businesses, organizations, celebrities, and political figures to represent themselves on #PakSurf.
Unlike a personal PakSurf profile, waves are visible to everybody on the Internet. Anyone on PakSurf can connect to and receive updates from a wave by becoming a surfer(i.e. ‘surfing’ the wave).
Like a friend’s profile, PakSurf waves enable public figures, authors, speakers, restaurants, hotels, bands, retail stores, photographers, realtors, community organizations and other entities to create an authentic and public presence on PakSurf.
Unlike your friend’s profile, PakSurf waves are visible to everyone on the internet by default. You, and every person on PakSurf, can connect with these waves by becoming a surfer and then receive their updates in your Time Line activity and interact with them.
Authenticity is at the core of a wave on PakSurf. Just as profiles should represent real people and real names, so too should waves for entities.
Only the official representatives of a public figure, business or organization should create a wave on PakSurf.
Brand your Wave:
Add a unique cover photo and showcase your most important news on your Wave timeline. Connect with a wide range of people, post new updates so people who cares knows what's going on and what matters.
What’s the difference between a Wave and a Group?
Unlike groups, waves are visible to unregistered users and are thus indexed in search engines (important for reputation management, for example); Unlike waves, groups allow you to send out “invite” (you can easily invite all your friends to join the group while with waves you will be forced to drop some invites manually).
Because of this, groups are better for viral marketing, meaning that any group member can also send invites to his or her friends.
Waves are generally better for long-term relationships with your fans, readers or customers.
Groups are generally better for hosting a (quick) active discussion and attracting quick attention.
